We Golems!
We Golems! works with the figure of the golem to think through our relationship to our own creations. In this series, what is constructed does not appear as something external to the human, but as something that also returns it, displaces it, and reconfigures it.
The series works with faces and presences composed through layers of mediation. Far from organising itself as a closed investigation, it moves freely across different media and procedures, turning each image into a kind of palimpsest in which one form contains another and one surface never fully erases the one before it.
What appears is not simply a portrait, nor an artificial figure opposed to the human. Each face functions instead as a form of return: a constructed presence that seems to give something familiar back, though in a mediated, strange, or incomplete form. In that crossing, the image does not present itself as a stable unity, but as a construction in which proximity and artifice intertwine without ever fully merging.
Rather than resolving that tension, We Golems! keeps it open. At that point, the golem appears less as a creature than as an intimate mirror: a figure through which the human returns in a partial, displaced form that is never fully its own.
